Who I am, how I work,
and why I believe in therapy

For more than 13 years I have worked as a mental health counselor at both the Bastyr University Counseling Center and in private practice. While my work at the university gave me the opportunity to work with many clients dealing with a variety of challenges, in private practice I specialization in working with individuals and couples to heal from the effects of compulsive sexual behavior, as well as the devastating effects that betrayal has on the spouse and to the relationship.

As a therapist and as an individual, I am an empathetic and compassionate listener, trustworthy and honest. I value integrity. My natural curiosity about people will help me gain insight into your particular challenges and how to work to overcome them. I rely on both my broad experience and knowledge of who you are to develop a focused treatment plan using proven tools to meet your specific needs. We will work together to help you learn to face vulnerabilities and make connections to behavior that will free you from pain and enrich your life.

Since we all experience some level of emotional distress I can attest to the value of the therapeutic experience. There have been times in my own life that I’ve felt stuck and unable to see beyond my pain. When I have enlisted the guidance of a trusted therapist I’ve been able to find resolution, gain a new perspective and move beyond my immobility.

The next step on your journey is a phone call. Since there is no “one size fits all” we will talk about what you’re going through and discuss any questions you might have about the therapeutic process. If we decide to work together, my goal is to help you regain your resilience and live the life you deserve.
